Feltrinelli Foundation

The new building of the Feltrinelli Foundation in Porta Volta, inaugurated in 2016, is spread over approximately 2,700 m2 for five floors. The architectural project is signed by the international studio Herzog & de Meuron and includes a library on the ground floor, a multipurpose room equipped for performance events on the first floor, a second and third floor for offices and classrooms and a reading room on the top floor. Complete a public green area with boulevards and cycle paths. The first objective of the project is to limit the environmental impact of the building, which has reached a Gold level of LEED certification thanks to the satisfaction of the sustainability of the site, the efficient management of water, energy and environment, recyclable materials and resources, quality control. of the air. Peculiar aspects: the quality of the materials, the high performance required, the choice to concentrate them in a few and essential, such as glass, aluminum, exposed concrete and wood and to prefer prefabricated elements.
