New road system in Genova

The new road system, once the works are completed, will benefit from direct access to the motorway via the Genova Ovest and Aeroporto toll gates, as well as the Lungo Polcevera connection with Genova Bolzaneto, resulting in improved port and non-port transport performance. The general intervention plan consists of multiple infrastructures extending along the entire coastal arc, bounded to the west by the Pionieri ed Aviatori d’Italia viaduct and to the east by Calata Bettolo, identified as follows: Work A: Western gate and extension of the elevated port road; Work B: modernization of the elevated port road and elevated Etiopia gate; Work C: Road connection between San Benigno and Calata Bettolo; Work D: Western truck parking area; Work E: Full construction of the “La Superba” road; Work F: New Ponte del Papa bridge; Work G: Safety measures for the Via Pionieri d’Italia viaduct – Phase I; Work H: Dredging of the new Ponte del Papa; Work I: Structural reinforcement of Ponte dei Mille; Work L: Safety measures for the Via Pionieri d’Italia viaduct – Phase II; Work R: Siffredi railway overpass (3D view shown in the adjacent image). The design was carried out and verified according to the BIM PROTOCOL.
