Fiumicino Airport

The project – under a framework agreement for the verification of designs (traditional, BIM, LEED®) – concerns the renovation of the boarding area A1–10 – Pier D at Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino (Rome). The renovation of piers A 1–10 and A 31–59 (the latter already completed) is part of the roadmap of interventions for the operational readiness of the East Hub. The boarding area, referred to as “Boarding Area A1–A10 (formerly Pier D)”, is located within the airport grounds and spans four above-ground levels and one underground level. The building footprint covers approximately 13,000 square meters, with a rectangular layout measuring up to 230 meters in length and 55 meters in width. The total above-ground covered area is approximately 42,000 square meters, distributed across four levels. The new infrastructure, with a theoretical average capacity exceeding 1,100 passengers per hour for both Domestic Schengen and Extra-Schengen flights, enables more efficient management of departing passenger traffic flows.
